Getting used tablespace per user

Is there an easy way to get the used tablespace per user. So which query do I need to run to get get used tablespace for say user Scott. Additional is there an SQL to get the TOP 10 used tablespce per user?

I know only one way:
1. Compute the statistics
2. For every table belonging to the user find the average length and multiply it to
the number of the rows.

Something like this is possible to do with the indexes.

Ok based on your suggestion I used the following statement tu get the used size in the tables

select owner, floor(sum(NUM_ROWS * AVG_ROW_LEN)/1000) as "Used space in KByte" from all_tables GROUp BY owner HAVING floor(sum(NUM_ROWS * AVG_ROW_LEN)/1000) > 0 ORDER BY floor(sum(NUM_ROWS * AVG_ROW_LEN)/1000) DESC;

Following is an example of the SYSTEM tablespace, you can check for any tablespace, i think it'll work for you

SELECT   owner, segment_name, segment_type, tablespace_name, BYTES
    FROM dba_segments
   WHERE tablespace_name = 'SYSTEM' AND owner NOT IN ('SYS', 'SYSTEM')
ORDER BY owner, segment_name;
