You can try to "delete" the temporary files, but have to do very wizely.
This means:
1. Shutdown gracefully the Oracle softwere on the computer.
2. Do not delete, only remove the temporary tablespaces on another
device or media. Check when are they accessed last time (and updated also).
3. Shutdown the os
4. Start the OS
5. Start Oracle
If you do not experience troubles there is a big chance you solve the issue.
Of course googling using the temporary file names can enlighte the usage
of these files .....

I for one, have not had the problem with temp files -- but I also do things as much by the book as I can. In my inexperience, therefore, once you have a clean and working install, the objects are removable by any means. I've patched HPUX, Solaris, and WIN 2003 without issues. HTH
