The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Query

Asked by notbobj1 in Oracle Database, Oracle 10.x, PL / SQL

I need to come up with the pl/sql query that will produce a record that has a summed amount for each code and term per person, so that the result set would look something like:
John, TU, SU, 0002500
John, OF, SU, 0005000
John, TU, WI, 0001000
John, TU, AU, 0003030
Mike, OF, SP, 0040050
(note: I need the amount to be 7 char long and include cents but no decimal point)
(note: you will need to decode 2 sets of values:
for the Term - 200701, the return should be SU, for 200702, AU, 200703, WI, 200704, SP
for the code, TU01, TU03, TU04 should return TU, REGF should be OF)
Here are my tables and data
(User)
Id, Name
1, John
2, Mike

(Charges)
Id, Code, Term, Amount
1, TU04, 200701, 10.00
1, TU01, 200701, 15.00
1, REGF, 200701, 50.00
1, TU03, 200703, 5.50
1, TU01, 200703, 4.50
1, TU04, 200702, 30.30
2, REGF, 200704, 200.50
2, REGF, 200704, 200.00
