Can any body tell me the differences between oracle database 10g and 11g and to what extent it supports on windows platform

both are supported on windows

11g has new Cost based Optimizer - many execution plans for one statement are stored.
It is possible to store also result sets, so if the same selects run again and the data are not changed
the result set is read.
New data types - DICOM medical images, LOBs are enhanced to Safe Files, compression is enhanced.
Enterprise manager looks beter.
SQL*Plus is more stable and predictable.
Transpararent Data Encryption do not mask the indexes.
It is a great version of Oracle.

There is nothing revolutionary in 11g, so migration might be more or less starighforward.

Bwt. support of 10g end july 2010, but 1st year of extended support is for free, so we got 2 years to move to 11g.

Sorry for interrupting the process! Have no objections.

On September 1, 2009 release 2 of 11g has arrised
(sofar only on 32 and 64 bits linux).
It can compress the data 10 times smaller and also
has a new RAC concept - '"One node RAC".
And many other enhancements.
