Hi, I don't know what a materialize view is- could you please explain? Thank you
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have eight Discoverer reports (.dis) that run without user-defined parameters each week. I just log in to Discoverer Desktop, choose the report from my computer, and they run (I can provide more information about this if necessary). I have heard there is a way to schedule reports in Discoverer- and that is what I'm after. I would like them to run every Monday morning and be ready for me when I get to work.
Please let me know if you need additional information, and thank you in advance.

If you know what VIEWS are then you know what MVs are. While Views are built dynamically when queried, MVs are more static and require storage space also. They are used to ppull together data from different tables and can include calculated columns also.
These can then be scheduled to refresh periodically.

Why not base these reports on Materialized Views? That way your reports will always be pulling the desired data on demand. Or you could schedule your MV's to be refreshed at your defined frequency.
