Does anyone know if, within the export function, the file type and the path can be set to predetermined values.  Right now, when I get to that screen, txt is the defualt value and the path is usually set to my base C directory.  I would like the file type to be csv and the path to be set to where i would save the files to.

Set DefaultExportPath variable in the pref.txt file in discoverer/util/ folder of the middle tier.

Not sure how to change the default file type.

Note that after changing the pref.txt file, you'll need to execute the applyprferences.sh script.
Make sure you take backup before making changes.

Not sure where to find this "Set DefaultExportPath variable in the pref.txt file in discoverer/util/ folder of the middle tier".  There is no path discoverer/util/folder

What is your ORACLE_HOME for your middle tier?

Do you have an oracle user on the box? If so, look in the profile of this user and you'll find an ORACLE_HOME specified there, if not, please show me the PATH environment setting. We shuld be able to find the directory from there.

Sorry I haven't responded.  I'm really not sure what you're referring to regarding an "oracle user on the box".  Nor do I understand how I'm supposed to show you the path environment.  Can you be more specific?

When an Oracle software is installed, it is usually installed while logged into the server(computer) as a user created for that Oracle software.

Usually, this user is called oracle if you follow the guidelines.

You may check for this user with

id oracle

This is assuming you're on Linux/Unix.
