ctrl keys not working in oracle apps

Using Oracle Apps 11.5.10. For some reason starting last week, if I want to copy a test form a separate application(ie Excel) into a field in Oracle Apps, nothing happens.

Sorry, I meant whenever I use ctrl c to copy and ctrl v to paste text or data to a field in Oracle Apps, nothing happens.

The form or page you are viewing may not be enabled for those key scan codes.  CTRL INS or SHF INS are worth trying, but the EDIT pulldown in your window's toolbar should show the cut and paste commands if they are enabled.

I can copy and paste within the application, but when I want to copy or paste outside oracle apps, it doesn't work. For example, I have a long filename on an excel file or notepad, I normally copy that text then paste to a parameter field.
I think your problem could be due to the number of characters allowed in the particular parameter field where you are trying to paste is exceeded or the datatype could be wrong. Try copying one character from notepad and paste them in oracle apps parameter field. Try a number value also.

I never had a problem before. Even if i want to copy one character it still doesn't work
Check if your copied data is available to the clipboard.
Open an excel and type few characters.
Under Edit menu, select Office Clipboard.
Copy the typed characters.
Now you should be able to find the copied data in the clipboard.

If you find them in the clipboard, then try pasting the copied data into a notepad.

If you can paste the data in a notepad, then the same method should work for oracle apps environment.

I can copy and paste from excel into notepad and vice versa but when can't copy the same date into oracle apps.
FYI, I'm using jinitiator 1.3.1.18, Internet explorer 7
Can you copy some characters entered in oracle apps to a notepad?

No ---neither into nor out of oracle apps
Your problem seems to be either a browser related issue or some configuration change issue. Try the options discussed in the links http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=171363 and http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/101833/0/.
