Can someone explain how this function works. Its from an Oracle seeded ar report.

This will return the Chart Of Accounts ID.

This is a call to a user exit that in turn calls a ProC code to return the values as per the parameters passed to the function.

SRW.REFERENCE(:P_COAID); -> This passes the value of :P_COAID to a user exit FLEXSQL
SRW.USER_EXIT('FND FLEXSQL ...) passes control to a program (it seems to be "SQLGL")  during execution of report
Output of this program - OUTPUT=":ACCT_FLEX_BAL_SEG" - is then returned by function ACCT_FLEX_BAL_SEGFormula.
