If you apply a CPU patch, will it pick up previous patches as well?

i.e. If CPUJAN2009 is applied will it pick up everything in CPUJAN2008?  

I don't have access to MetaLink so I'm not able to use that as a resource.

For Database and Middleware CPU patches are cumulative.
