I was referring to this example
SELECT employee_id, last_name, manager_id, LEVEL
FROM employees
CONNECT BY PRIOR employee_id = manager_id;
Assuming we have only employee id and manager_id in employees table and their names are stored in other table say NAMES table with columns NAME_ID and NAME
My Question:
How to make the above query work with additional NAMES table

Hi ajexpert,
try ... assuming the employee table also holds the name_id column to use to join to the names table:
SELECT e.employee_id, n.name, e.manager_id, LEVEL
FROM employees e
JOIN names n
ON e.name_id = n.name_id
CONNECT BY PRIOR e.employee_id = e.manager_id;
