actually it returns more than 4000!

PL/SQL: numeric or value error
I have this function
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION new_func( SelectStatement IN STRING )

on 2 differnet servers one is 10g and the other is 11g
from the 10g it works but from the 11g server
the web server "the application" is returning ORA-06502

what is the result of the query you run?
Does it return more than 32763 characters?
how are you using the function? If the resulting string is more than 4000 characters you can't use it in sql
