I have an existing database and I want to "copy" it to another place - both with PostgresSQL.
I have succeded to export the data with phpPgAdmin as an SQL script file.
Now I have a problem - I don't know how to import it to the other database.
I tried using pgAdmin III but I get out of memort; it is very large file.
Please help,
Doron

To export:
pg_dump -Uuser -C database_name > database_name.pg_dump
The "-C" option tells pg_dump to include the command to create the database itself.
To import:
psql -Uuser < database_name.pg_dump
You may have some problems going from a source db with a version of postgreSQL later than that of the target, e.g.:
7.2 going to a 7.3 is okay
7.3 going to 7.2 may be somewhat problematic and require some tweaking from you.
