I am trying to install the Windows version of Postgresql (v8.4.1) onto a Windows Server 2003 machine that acts as our domain controller.
The issue starts when I have to create the password for the service user 'postgres'. The service account will not create during the installation set-up. The server only has Active Directory Users and no option to create local users as I would normally do this manually.
Can anyone help with setting up a 'postgres' user so that I can install this successfully in Win 2003.

Not Microsoft nor PostgreSQL will shake your hand for this action.
You can use domain account domain\user or user@domain instead or "net user" can create one for you
