was this on the server, or on the local user's PC?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWhen I'm trying to run a report through the Desktop Intelegence client I keep getting an error stating "Connection or SQL sentence error: (DA0005)". When you click details it gives you the following information:
Exception: CS, DBDriver failed to load : C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects
Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\
This error only occurrs when the user is not a member of the local administrators group. When I add the user to the local administrators group I am able to run reports with no errors. I've attempted giving the local Power Users group full access to the parent directory of "Business Objects" and forcing the child directories and files to inherit the security settings given to it but that didn't work either.

Figured it out already.
The local power users group didn't have access to the Oracle directory. Once I gave the group permission to "C:\Oracle" & "C:\Program Files\Oracle" the reports ran successfully.
