The ODBC connection is the same on the local PC where the reports run and on the Crystal Reports Server. I have tested the connection on both and it "Test Successful".

Browse All TopicsI have created reports locally using CR2008. I am attempting to run them from CR Server 2008. I have ODBC connections on my local PC and on the CR Server using the same credentials (SQL 2005 SQL Server Authentication). Each time I run the report locally it runs fine but when I run it on the CR Server I get the following errors "Failed to open the connection. ~tmpeb05def8c805f2.rpt " and "Error in File ~tmp170c5def6733970.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters." I have checked the Database Configuration for the report on the server and have selected "Use original database login information from teh report" and I have also tried the "Use custom database logon information specified here" with the same error. I have run the "Deployment Diagnostic Tool" on the Crystal Reports Server. Everything passed with the exception of "Web Intelligence Functionality" which failed. I am able to use the web CMC fine. Ok, I had one report created by a vendor that worked on Crystal Reports server. I looked at the data source and it used an OLE DB connection and not ODBC. I changed one of my problem reports to an OLE DB connection, updated the report and tested the data source. I then uploaded to CR Server and viola, it worked. I'm still not sure why the ODBC connections aren't working but I'm happy that something is working. I had tried various user accounts and checked permissions and had no luck before trying the OLE DB. Thanks for the replies.

Is it the same system ODBC connection?
If not the report is probably looking for the ODBC connectioin on your PC.
