The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

CRS 2008 V1 and Crystal Reports 2008 V1 SP2 Compatibility Issues?

Asked by SWEnergy in Business Objects, Crystal Reports Software

Tags: Crystal Reports Server 2008

I'm having issues with the SP2 update for Crystal Reports breaking CMC in CRS 2008. I've run through this processes several times, and I'm able to replicate the problem each time I reboot after the SP2 install...

1) Installed CRS 2008 V1, rebooted and verified functionality
2) Installed Xcelsius 2008, rebooted and verified functionality of both products
3) Installed Crystal Reports 2008 V1, rebooted and verified functionality of all three products
4) Installed SP2 for Crystal Reports 2008 - verified that CMC was still functioning properly
5) Rebooted

At this point, one of two things happens. I either can't browse to the CMC (get a generic "page cannot be displayed" error) OR if I can log in to the CMC, the Licensing page is completely blank. If I go to the Registration Wizard utility for CRS, it tells me my key is invalid (which it isn't).

I've wiped the server and started fresh, going through the above process again, and I get the same results. I then took a snapshot (VM) of the server at the point where I installed Xcelsius and have tried running through the rest of the process several more times...always ending up breaking after SP2.

Environment:
Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2
Using IIS7 only (no Tomcat)
DB is on a separate server running SQL Server 2008

Anyone else experience anything like this? Suggestions?
