Yes, it appears that V1 is how BO is referring to Crystal Reports with SP1 already applied.

1) Installed CRS 2008 V1, rebooted and verified functionality
2) Installed Xcelsius 2008, rebooted and verified functionality of both products
3) Installed Crystal Reports 2008 V1, rebooted and verified functionality of all three products
4) Installed SP2 for Crystal Reports 2008 - verified that CMC was still functioning properly
5) Rebooted
At this point, one of two things happens. I either can't browse to the CMC (get a generic "page cannot be displayed" error) OR if I can log in to the CMC, the Licensing page is completely blank. If I go to the Registration Wizard utility for CRS, it tells me my key is invalid (which it isn't).
I've wiped the server and started fresh, going through the above process again, and I get the same results. I then took a snapshot (VM) of the server at the point where I installed Xcelsius and have tried running through the rest of the process several more times...always ending up breaking after SP2.
Environment:
Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2
Using IIS7 only (no Tomcat)
DB is on a separate server running SQL Server 2008

If you are one of many report designers, please check with your system administrator before installing this product update. Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) is available now. SP2 is supported in standalone environments, with BusinessObjects Edge BI 3.1 SP2 and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 . Please do not proceed with this update if you are running Crystal Reports Server, or earlier versions of BusinessObjects Edge BI, BusinessObjects Enterprise. Note that side-by-side deployments of service pack levels are not supported. You may run Crystal Reports 2008 side by side with Crystal Reports XI R2 or earlier, but you may not run Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 side by side.

I remember reading either an alert from Crystal that I get or something in theor knowledge base that there is an issue with CR 2008 SP2. The issue was SP2 was incompatible with SP1 so you had to uninstall SP1 before installing SP2.
What is V1? Is that CR 2008 with SP1?
