Question

Server has not yet been opened

I've included CRViewer control in a VB6 application, made an .exe and distributed it on a client computer.

But I always get this message "Server has not yet been opened". It works fine on the computers that have Crystal Reports installed... but not on the others. Does anyone know what file(s) are missing or what other problem I'm stuck with?

Try using SetLogOnInfo, I was getting that same error when I wasn't using the following before I did a viewreport

 For Each dbTable In Report.Database.Tables
   dbTable.SetLogOnInfo CurDatabase, CurDatabase, strUser, strPassword

Hi jeanfrancoismelancon,
I have faced similar problem...
What you have to do is...there are dll P2SMON.DLL and CRPE32.DLL
Just copy the dlls into your Windows\System folder (Win95/98 machines)...
And see the magic......
Everything will start working...
Also if u are using the Crystal report control...then copy the CRYSTAL32.OCX file into Windows\System.

Copy all dlls from Windows\Crystal directoy to user's windows\system directory. if the problem is still not solved, uncheck the  option Use Indexes or Server for Speed option.

Hi ksrtc,

I tried your solution and didn't work.

Plus, I tried the solution provided by Brian Alves from

with

Report.Database.LogOnServer "P2SODBC.DLL", "dsnname", "dbname", "userid", "pwd"

(dsn works fine alone on testing)

Or

Report.Database.LogOnServer "P2SOLEDB.DLL", "servername", "dbname", "userid", "pwd"

(servername,dbname,userid and pwd all work.)

I still have the same "Server has not yet been opened." I already tried all the steps that explained in Crystal report help (cr_server_not_yet_been_opened.pdf at businessobjects.com) on this specific error without a luck.
