An active user is defined by Crystal as one process request, for example a report execution, a drilldown or some other function in which the CERAS app server must address the request. 10 users logged in concurrently will only be serviced 3 requests at a time, while any request beyond will be cached until a new "thread" opens up.
1. So the question is, in order to service 1000 "Real" users, how many "Active" users (or threads) are necessary?
2. How many active users can be handled with a "processor license?

In my understanding, 3 licenses allows 3 users to be viewing a report at the same time or 1 user to be viewing 3 reports. I believe as long as they have the report open the license is tied up.
If you expect up to 1000 simultaneous users then I expect 3 licenses will not be enough.
I am not familiar with how CERAS works or handles the licenses since we have chosen to present the reports via other methds thus avoiding most of Crystals license issues.
I guess the real question is whatconstitutes an active user? Is it a user who displays a report then moves on to other things without closing the report? or is that user only active when the data & report are built (once displayed the license is free until he moves to the next page)?
