CR Designer disappeared from VB6 IDE

I have this project with about 20 CR9 reports currently in it.  Now I need to create another report and I noticed that the Add Crystal Report menu item is missing from the Project menu.  Also, when I check the Project...Components designer tab the CR designer is not listed.  How can I get the desginer back?

Was Crystal uninstalled?  Have you tried unistalling and reinstalling Crystal?

What other changes have occurred recently on the machine?

It is CR 9.2 and no I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I was concerned that I would have a bigger mess.  I also have CR 8 installed since I did have a need to use both versions.  Now, I guess I no longer have that need.    Currently my projects which use CR9 are working and I can modify existing reports and I am concerned that I would break the app.  Also I don't think there has been any chnages to the machine.

By your description, I am guessing you are building the reports from the VB IDE and saving them as dsr files.  

We started out in a similar manner but we built the reports in the Crystal designer and imported them to VB as dsrs.  After importing about 15-20 reports we started running into some wierd prblems in VB that were somewhat related to your problem.  We would lose forms, references, etc.

We solved our problem by moving away from the dsr method and using the reports directly through first the OCX then the RDC.  

What service pack for VB do you have installed?  If it is not at least SP5 I would recommend you download it from Microsoft and install it.
