each time i try to use a parameter in my report, i get the error crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  this is only happenning with one report and all other reports i built are working just fine. any suggestions? is it an error in the parameter? i am using crystal reports 2008.

Do the others have parameters?

Sounds like a bad report file.
Try saving it to another name and see of you get the same issue.

I have had problems like that and have had to use a backup copy or start all over if I didn't have a good copy.

I have tried to save the file on another location with another name and tried to insert the parameter, the problem is still there while the other reports do contain parameters and are working just fine. could there be another problem causing the crash of the system? one more thing and before removing all the parameters to be able to access the report, i accessed the report with a special program used to only display the information and it worked fine. i tried to uninstall CR and install it again, on the installation i am getting an error that some dll files cannot be registered (did not get those errors on the original installation), could it be the problem? but regsvr32 is not working on those files. Thanks for the help and waiting for a possible solution.

I have done a new test and opened a fresh report with only one table, and defined a parameter. It is also crashing the software when i try to use the parameter in the report, it seems that the system is crashing whenever i need to use new parameters in any report and not only the one i was working with. could you please instruct me on how to perform a total uninstall for the crystal reports i am using so i can install a fresh copy again as if the software has never been installed before on my PC??? Thanks.

There should be an uninstall through CONTROL PANEL - ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

It is a problem which cannot be solved by add/remove, i tried it and did not worked. i solved the problem by creating a virtual machine on my pc and installed a fresh copy of Crystal Reports and b\now is workin fine. Thanks.
