Crystal Reports 2008 Record Selection Problem. View not using the Record Selection Formula

I recently upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008
I created a small simple report that passes one parameter and then that parameter gets used limit the data.
I know the parameter is being passed to the report because I display it on the report.

Everything works in the Crystal Designer, but in my application it doesn't work in the viewer.

Here are some other things I've found.
If I export it works just fine.
If I print it works just fine.
If I preview...doesn't work

If I move the code from the Record Selection Formula to the Group Selection Formula is all works just fine.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

set the record selection formula in the viewer instead of using the report handle "crDoc"
that gets around this issue... which i agree is VERY annoying..

Crystal defaults to saving data with the report

Verify that is off
Exporting and printing force a refresh

Open the report
Click FILE
Ensure SAVE DATA WITH REPORT is not checked

You can also turn it off in the REPORT OPTIONS

To turn it off for all new reports
Click FILE --> OPTIONS
Not sure which tab but I think it is the database or reporting tab

I've spent the last day trying to figure this out. Wow, how frustrating. Is this considered a bug in Crystal? Either way thanks so much.

For anyone else having the problem, here was the exact change I made

myViewer.ReportSource = m_Rpt;
myViewer.SelectiongFormula = m_Rpt.RecordSelectionFormula;

I know how you feel.. the same thing happened to me... I must have tried 30 different things to fix this problem... on the plus side Crystal has better parameter selection stuff with the new version..

However ..... CHECK YOUR PARAMETERS in any reports you UPGRADE from a previous version.. some of mine converted to "STATIC"... and turned off the dynamic parameter selections... don't know if you use them .. but it is another problem that bit me with this recently.
