Am I missing something?
How do you see/set the height of a section.
Yes, I know you can drag the section height bar with the mouse, but suppose you want the detail section to be exactly .55 inches.
Where is the Dialog box that asks: "Please type in a Height for this section"
?
The flip side is, suppose I see a section in a report.
Now, ...I want to know the height of that section.
Where do I go to see the section height?
I am using CR10.
Again, am I just missing something simple here?

It's funny, I use CR only in a supporting capacity, so I was not sure it this was just one of those things I just missed.
Your tips seems to work if the textbox grows, but not if it shrinks.
If that's as good as it gets, then I'm cool with that.
It just suddenly struck me as odd that Access could do something that CR could not...

Once set you don't even have to have to leave the textbox in place.
You can also size the textbox with the SIZE AND POSITION option
Also rather than dragging the section height you can right click the left margin and choose the FIT SECTION option which will auotmatically move the bottom to the bottom of the lowest object.
You can control how large a box can grow through the formatting of the box.
Right click the box
Click FORMAT BOX
On the COMMON TAB
Click CAN GROW but set the number of lines to something other than 0. 0 means no limit. If you set it to 4 then the box can only be 4 lines tall.

CR Doesn't have such property boxes, Jeff.
One way to do this would be to add a textbox to the section and size it to the section height you want.You can see the textbox dimensions on the screen; in version 11 they are at the bottom right of the screen - I don't have v10. You will see them change as you resize the textbox.
Make sure the textbox is pushed up against the top edge of the section and push the the bottom edge of the section to remove any space. There is no need to put anything in the textbox. It will not be visible in the report.
