Crystal Xl - prevent user for entering null value for static parameter

I have created a static parameter and have set the default value.  However, the user  can select the & which will equate to a null.  I am using this parameter value to pass to a stored procedure. It is necessary that a null value is not passed.   Is there a way to prevent the selection of a null?
