Question

Setting Text Height in Crystal

Asked by: imanewbie

Hi again -

I suspect this is an easy question, but I can't find the answer in any manuals or on this site.

In my report, I have multiple sections of essentially the same type of data.  Each section is one line of data, 4 columns.  It's done in multiple sections because some may be suppressed depending on the info.

Anyway, I need the height of each text box, in each section, to be the same.  I know I should be able to set this somewhere in conditional formatting, but can't figure out where to do it, or how to write it if I find the right spot.

Any thoughts are appreciated

(And, being new to this site - how do I determine how many points to assign to a question?)

Last question first.  See the help
http://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hs=29&hi=400

Basically it is whatever you think it is worth.  As a premium member you have unlimited points.  You will find that some experts look only for high point questions.  I don't find that is the case in the Crystal zone.  Generally base the number offered on what you perceive as the difficulty of the question and how urgent it is to you.

You can't set the height through conditional formatting.  Are some of the fields potentially more than one line?

You can set the height of a box 2 ways.
1.  Use the mouse or arrow keys to size it
2.  Right click it and use the SIZE AND POSITION option

WHen you have 1 set to the height you want, you can then select all the boxes by holding the CTRL key down while you select them individually or if they are all in a line then click in a blank area and drag to select them all
Right click the one that is the correct height
Click SIZE -- SAME HEIGHT

If you use controlclick or drag your mouse over a line of textboxes to select them then you can size them and align tem the same on the rightclick menu.

Thanks to both - I knew there had to be an easy way to do this, just couldn't find it anywhere!

Cheers!
