The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

VB.Net -- Creating a Report in MS Word with VB.Net and Access

Asked by mamcw in SQL Reporting, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, Miscellaneous Programming

Hello all, I need help creating a report in MS Word by pulling information from Access with VB.Net 2003.  Unfortunately Crystal reports, at this time, is not an option.  I need to be able to choose which rows and columns are to be exported to the Word template.  In addition, I need to be able to format the layout of that information on the Word page.  The  page will contain some Graphics and the text extracted from the database (meaning I will not be able to just create a table and fill it).  To sum up, here is it what I want to be able to do:

1 - Extract columns of my choosing from a row
2 -  Write this information to a Word doc/template at different places (paragraph form)  on the page with the column name as the title
3 - Insert the graphics onto the page at different locations and save the page
3 - Proceed to the next row and repeat steps 1 and 2 above on a new page and so on until all rows have been written to a separate page

NOTE:  I want the document to be formatted the same for each report, so once I get the information where I need it I will not need to reformat for the next page of info.

Some of the  information that is going to be taken from the database will be Location_Name, Contact, Address, City, State, Description.  The Description field can contain two or more paragraphs of info ( basically the reason why  I need to be able to format the page).  And yes I am a beginner but I do learn fast.  Sorry for the long description but I just wanted to be clear.  Hopefully my requirements are  possible.

Experts thank you for reviewing my question and your help is greatly appreciated.
