well! Even thougt for the same. however for some time reports run fine and fetch the data too.
But most pf the time it throws the error.
I tried restatrting the Volume but it doesn't help.

Possibly the problem can happen when you don't have the data connection set up
correctly for the datasource. If you're writing a sequential report you
can put the data connection in the sequential section and share it with
the (sub)reports. If you use a parallel section you must provide separate
data connections for each (sub)report.
What is the Data base version you use?
If it is 10g then you have to add entry in listener.ora on the server
for the instance you use.
