Cognos 8 how to schedule a prompt report

Hi

I have created a prompt report. Can anyone tell me if this can now be scheduled to run at specific times or if not can it be run manually and emailed to a receipient?

You can manually run it and email by clicking the 'Run with Options" button.  On that screen is an "Email to recipient" option (assuming that the Email settings have been correctly set up in Cognos Configuration).  This screen also allows you to have the report run once at a later time

You can schedule it to run  on a repeating schedule by either clicking the "Schedule" button beside the report name in Cognos Connection and specifying the information, or by creating a "Job" object (which allows you to schedule multiple reports at the same time).

You have the option of emailing to users from the configured Cognos namespaces (which only works if they've logged into Cognos before), or by specifying a specific email address.

I will try this later today, one thought though how do you pass the information you wish to prompt on if its scheduled, for example I need to pass start date, end date and contract type to get the data I need how can i do this if scheduled?

When you create the schedule, it'll prompt you for any parameters that are in the report.  Alternatively, you can modify the "properties" of the report to set the parameters, which will be used by default when you schedule the report if you deselect the "Prompt " button the schedule tab.
