create a cognos impromptu catalog to a secure ms access database

Using Cognos Impromptu Admin 7.3 I attempt to connect to my Access database, but the security is preventing the connection, does anyone have step by step instructions for building the database connection so a catalog can be created against an Access database?

Other info:

I am attempting to write several reports based on some tables in one of our Microsoft Access databases (created with version 2000 or 2002 I believe, currently being run on the server with Office 2003).

my local copy of the shortcut to get at the data portion of the database reads something like:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\Database\DB_be.mdb" /WRKGRP "C:\Database\Security.mdw" /USER "DB_Admin" /PWD "DB_pass5" (note that I have office 2007 installed locally)

typing in the username and password in the DSN and database connection does not work, i'm thinking i'm somehow needing to reference the workgroup and security.mdw in the connection string like the shortcut, but am unsure of the syntax or how to get to that point.

neither of those was it, however they pointed me to what was missing. when setting up the system DSN, I didn't specify the system database .mdw file, which was what was causing me to not be able to connect.
