Perfect, thanks Chris. That code was spot on.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am trying to write a report which shows a different currency symbol dependent on the results of the SQL query. For example in the table I have:
Name, Currency
United Kingdom, 1
United States, 2
Ireland, 3
Australia, 4
And in the International..Languague parameter of the field, I have the expression listed as below in the code.
The result set only returns a single row, however no matter which number is returned, the currency stays as GBP as the default language of the report is English (United Kingdom) and if I set the language for the field manually, as opposed to programmatically, the symbol changes as expected.
I have looked up how to do this and my code seems correct, so I must be missing part of the puzzle.
Many thanks.

Hi ccaines,
FYI: MS SQL Reporting is the new zone for SSRS questions, I've requested this question be added to that zone.
If you want the currency shown based on the locale of the person who is running the report ypou can do this by setting the reports language property to;
=User!Language
If you then use any of the standard formatting codes, i.e. c2 for currency or d for date, they will be formatted based on the users locale settings.
If the currency symbol does not necessarily match the users locale then you should NOT use the standard formatting codes. You can customise the format property with an expression based on your switch statement, see the snippet attached.
Here's a link to MSDN where the formatting is detailed fully.
Cheers
Chris
