Display HTML Item in PDF format?

Hi,

I have some un-encoded/encoded HTML data formatted in my database, stored as CLOBS's. In Cognos report studio I can get the report to render the HTML code and display the formatted text (in a HTML Item), but I wanted to be able to then print this as a PDF, but when I switch to PDF, the HTML text disapears.
 
i.e this code : <p>This <strong>is</strong> some <u>test</u> text.</p>

is displayed as "This is some test text. (But test is underlined, IS is boldetc..)

but when I switch to PDF, it's blank...

Anyone have any ideas how to get the text into a pdf?

Thanks, most of the links don't really address the issue of displaying a HTML Item when running the report as a PDF.

Essentially the "HTML Item" is only meant to run as a HTML page report, but surely there must be a way to display formatted HTML text in a PDF.

If my question isn't clear can you let me know?

I had raised an SR with IBM about this and the answer is not it cannot be done. If anyone else has the same problem see this IBM article;
