SQLBase versus SQL Server

Asked by zephyr_hex in SQLBase, Crystal Reports Software, MS SQL Server

Tags: sqlbase, sql, server

we currently use a program that uses a database in SQLBase 7.6.1
it takes a considerable amount of time (up to 30 seconds) to import to excel with ODBC
it takes considerably more time to run complex crystal reports (again, using ODBC)

would there be a performance improvement by moving to something like SQL Server 2005?

are there tools to improve performance of SQLBase?

what are the main differences between SQLBase and SQL Server?
