VB Script writing to Oracle DB crashes during insert when invalid data is submitted

I have a VB Script app that connects to an Oracle database and inserts data. Everything is fine when valid data is received, but when there is an error (data exceeding field length, improper data type, etc.), the VB Script crashes. It isn't feasible to screen for all possible errors before performing the insert, so I'd like to catch the SQL error and let the script continue and exit rather than crashing.

The same process with SQL Server just returns an error and continues on, but when writing to Oracle it crashes completely. Is there a setting or switch to allow the process to continue and just trap the error?
