Just a hint (I'm not a Siebel expert): make sure the user has Admin privs in order to allow proper install.

If you have access to Siebels SupportWeb checkout Technotes 452, 450 and 418 for the deployment options.

You need to either:

a) Install a version of MSOffice on the machine

~ or ~

b) Install the office viewer(s)

The option pack is needed because Siebel integrates with Outlook, and so installing some form of Office will satisfy that.

I put viewer(s) because I'm not sure if you need one or all because I always just install them all. The viewers are old, free, and available from MS. Go to download.microsoft.com and type in "Office viewers". They have one for Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Install, reboot, launch Siebel, and be sure to come back here and tell us how it went :)

Hello, have you had a chance to try this yet?

Regarding Siebel Option Pack, please be aware that this ActiveX differs depending on the Siebel release you use...
You do not need :
-MS-Office viewers or app if you don't use Proposal or Correspondances modules.
-Java SDK if you don't use CTI (see TechNote 418 for more info)

==> To remove warning popups, just add your Siebel application's website to te trusted site zone and insure that this zone is running at Medium-low (or lower) security.

Now, as every ActiveX, this Siebel's IEOP requires that the user have some NT rights to be stored locally.
==> Technote 418 shows how to build a static HTML page for an administrator to pre-deploy those ActiveX

Hope this helps.

So, you finally did use a static HTML page from an Administrator account...
==> This is called a pre-deployment and was commented in my last post ;-)
