From trying a search on the forums here - and spending the last 2 months looking at a multitude of searches on google, sourceforge, etc it appears that there are a lot of companies worldwide looking for a software solution similar to what I have been trying to find!
I am wondering if anyone has found a suitable solution? or if anyone can recommend one?
My needs are (to me) pretty simple! and not unique!
I have a IT Sales/Service consulting company. We provide on-site and in-store technical and consulting services to private customers amd companies. Calls range from setting up email to configuring Exchange server and eveything in-between. We currently have a total of 10 staff inluding myself, two sales people, and admin person and 6 technicians.
I want to be able to:
Enter and track private and company customer contact information.
Enter jobs/callouts/incidents/ti
ckets (add your preferred synonym here!) for those private and customer contacts
Assign the jobs/etc to a technician
Let the technician see her/his jobs and add notes to them
Let the customers enter their own jobs and see the progress made
Invoice the jobs - or at least track the time taken for each job and print a report so they can be invoiced.
I have looked at a couple of packages that do this - but they also do a 1000 other things and are aimed at coporate entities and priced accordingly. I have also seen a variety of packages that do some of this at low cost (or even no cost).
I am amazed that there is no package aimed specifically at this market (or that they advertise so badly I cannot find them) (or that I have missed them in my frustration over the last two months!).
Does anyone else in the same boat have any tried and tested ides? suggestions? solutions? (please do not answer with lists of links you have found via searches - I have looked at about 60 different packages and would really value input from users who have experience with the packages over a period of time.)
