Login failed for User 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON' when launching Microsoft CRM 3

Set up is as follows:

Server 1
Windows Server 2003 SP2
MS SQL SERVER 2005
Reporting Services

Server 2
Windows Server 2003 SP2
Microsoft CRM3

I have installed CRM3 on server 2 but when I try to launch CRM I get the following error message:

Login failed for User 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'

I found the Microsoft article:

which seemed to describe my situation exactly and have followed the steps described but still have the problem.

When I was installing CRM I did get the warning about about 'Trust for Delegation' and followed numerous steps to try and resolve it to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

So on the installation, did you specify a service account or did you stay with Network Service?

What is the Application Pool for CRM running as (Identity Tab in properties of CRMAppPool (likely name)?

What .NET version is specified on the CRM website?
What is the Authentication set to? (should be Integrated only)

Hi,

Look in the properties of your CRM website.  Click the Directory Security tab then click the Edit button in the 'Authentication and access control' section and make sure that the 'Enable anonymous logon' check box is not checked.

Hi

Have discovered this was happening because I was changing the name of the server as I was adding it to the domain.

I have found that the following routine works:

On Domain Controller

Create OU for CRM setup
In OU create CRM Admin user and add to Domain Admin group


On CRM Server

Change IP address
Run newSID utility to create a new SID for the computer and change name.
Add server to the domain
Add CRM Admin user created above to the Local Admin group

Log on as CRM Admin user and install CRM

Wow, never would have guessed that. didn't realize it wasn't on a domain.
