When it comes an application package or software, they are not any "EVERGREEN". All this technologies are, apparently very soon, to be replaced by other competitive or open-source products.
As the trend is moving/looking towards SaaS (Software as a Service), the license based software vendors such as ORACLE, Microsoft and SAP themselves are seeing troubles for their future.
I wouldnt say SAP is going to be evergreen, as every corporate believes and experienced how difficult and expensive it is to implement ERP software. All they are looking towards better open-source alternatives. There are already popped-up opensource products in the market as alternatives to SAP(ERP), Siebel(CRM), ECM and PeopleSoft (HRM). For example, for CRM, SalesForce as SaaS vendor has already got enough hold in the market.
I would say, better stay strong in specific languages skills rather than the softwares developed based on.
Check it out. Good luck :)

Hi jaisonshereen,
SAP (and ERPs in general) aren't the answer to everything that they were believed to be a few years ago. There are lots of ERP systems out there, and will be for years to come.
If I were to closely align with one of the ERP systems, I would select PeopleSoft. With Oracle behind them, I believe they're positioned for better opportunities in the U.S.A. in the foreseeable future.
If I were in Europe, I'd very likely select SAP.
It sounds like you have SAP opportunities available to you. There's certainly nothing wrong with taking advantage of them while they are there, and adjusting your career path as new opportunities arise.
Good Luck,
Kent
