SAP Mobile sales - Requires admin rights

We run SAP Mobile sales in our environment. Workstations are Windows XP SP2.

Unfortunately this software requires admin rights on the local machine to run. Our SAP guys have told us there is no way for this software to properly run without admin rights. I cannot believe this is the case. Has anybody come across this? If so, is there any way we can have SAP Mobile sales running on a machine with Power user rights rather than admin rights?

As you can imagine this is causing all kinds of support problems for us.

Hi,

The quick and easy answer is that yes they need admin rights. This is due to the fact that SAP note "969551" lists the rights required to both the filesystem and registry and they are many. The note also points out that if they are using the system for development they need administrator rights.

Have your SAP guys give you a copy of the SAP note: -
Note 969551 - Windows User Rights Assignment for Mobile Suite 5.0

This should show you exactly what you need. Let me know if you can't get it and I might be able to make a blog with the summary.

He gave me Note 803387 - Windows User Rights Assignment for Mobile 4.0 Suite of
Appl. and 896604 - Windows user settings (user rights) for Mobile sales

Is Note 969551 more what I am looking for or will Note 896604 suffice?

Ok...We run Mobile Sales 4.0 so the note 896604 would be what we are looking for.
