OEM Network I/O Rate warning

Asked by Difladermaus in Oracle ERP, Oracle Database, Oracle 9.x

An inexperienced dba is grasping for straws and trying to blame slow Oracle response on the network. She is basing all this on OEM Network I/O Rate for a nic is 0.049MB/sec, fallen below warning... messages from OEM.

The nic shows 1GB connection from time of system boot, no errors, no drop packets...nothing. Network utilization from taskmanager is very low.

Stats from here printout from EOM show Average value .06, High Value 1.6, Low Value 0 over 24 hours. The warning and critical thresholds are not defined.

What drives this warning and does it actually mean there is a network issue or just low traffic on the NIC?Start Free Trial
