Integrating or coupling our software with SAP

Asked by timns in SAP ERP Software, Delphi Programming, SAP

Tags: Delphi or Java

We have a standalone Windows application which is very rich in features (complex GUI, interactive OpenGL graphics etc.)

What options might there be to offer our application's functionality to a business SAP community? We have access to a good SAP development and integration team, so the most elegant approach would be of interest.

Is it possible to have SAP launch our app with, say, command line parameters? What would we need to do to pull data from the SAP system? Or is it better to have it pushed?

Our ideal development would be in Delphi, but C++ would also be ok. Java would be a slight less preferred 3rd choice.

Sorry, complex question. Hence lots of points available.
