use the forms documentation manual for which i have already provided the link to you in another thread which has builtins to do this...
just to summarize, record group is a set of records returned for a given query. We can create record groups in the form and attach these records groups to the LOV ( list of values ). You can do this both statically in the form or you can even create record groups, LOV dynamically by using the create_record_group builtins etc...
The lov will be populated with the output records from the record group which you have attached to the LOV.
