With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. Transact-SQL How to get the output of a stored procedure into a temporary table

Hi,

This is my first question here. I have been searching through the archives but haven't been able to find a solution on this.

In SYBASE T-SQL let's say there is a stored procedure that outputs results in five columns.

I want to load the output of this stored procedure into a temporary table so I can run further queries on it.

The solutions I could find involve using the following syntax:

INSERT INTO #temp_table (tColumn_Name) SELECT "TestValue"

I can't use the above since can't do SELECT on the stored proc.

I tried the following but didn't work:

INSERT #temp_table
EXEC stored_proc
