Hi Andrew and Jack,

It is nice to take care of fellow experts.  I read the question and it seems the points belonged to Andrew.  As a good sport, which you are Andrew, you shared your win with Jack.  Just a hint.

Regards,

Mike

I have a question regarding this, I was awarded points for a question that another user also answered correctly, and within a minute before me I thought we should at least split the points but he said not to worry about it.

My question is, if I wanted to do this, how does it work? My expert points dont appear to be related in any meaningful way with points that are available to ask questions with, so if i just post a question and award points won't they be removed from my question points rather then my expert points (where they were awarded)

thanks,

John
John,

My understanding is, if you have reached to a level that EE is giving you premium service free, you can ask any number of questions you want.  With this service, question points have no limit.

Find out how many more expert points you need to earn to get this service if you don't have it already.

Mike
ya know, I just found that out by clicking the "you qualify" link about 2 minutes ago :)

thanks for the heads up!

ASKER

Mike, I felt that Jake deserved the points as it was his answer my answer was based upon and therefore the points should have been split. It is my understanding that unless we got a moderator to handle it this was still the way to go.

Cheers, Andrew

Andrew can you visit this months New TOP 15 Q:
  https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20831600/Attention-Experts-MSAccess-TOP-15-Challenge-for-December-2003.html

after all, you are one of the geezers mentioned in the question...  :)
Jack, I don't see the point in the New Top 15 Q:. To me it just seems to giving more points to people who dont really need them.

Cheers, Andrew
the points are just encouragement.  the point is more the recoginition for helping us out and making the whole thing a little more challenging and diverse.

sounds about right...  What else can I do to encourage the new folk?
Don't take this the wrong way but perhaps taking a step away may help and encourage others to take a more active role. Personally I am too busy to do too much so I only pop in and out when I have some spare time.

Cheers, Andrew
he too serves, that simply answers questions..
(and you're pretty good at that...)

My object is to make them part of a team, and then drop the other shoe for cleanup and such...  :)
