MS Access 2K wizards problem
I have a split Database, and as i have done on many occassions want to run Linked table manager. Access reports the following error messages
MS Access cant find wizard or there is a system error in declaration section of the visual basic module
The Wizard you need may be missing from the libraries key of the MS Access section of Windows registry
To Make sure that the Wizard is in the Windows registry, run setup to re-install MS Access and then compile all Visual basic modules
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Access a number of times. I have copied the registry entris for Access from another computer to my own. I also ran the scan for updates feature from the microsoft website as was suggested by Neil Loveridge in a previous post. Nothing helps!
Has anyone encountered this problem before, and if so could they PLEASE offer some help.
Thanks!

Thanks SidFishes,
I tried this before without success... tried it once more... all mde files are there in the right place. Still doesn't work. Reinstalled the wizards module... still doesn't work.
Jadedata,
I am running Access 2000 from MS Office 2000 SR-1 Professional on Windows 2000.

One more comment... my IT guys ran winupdate 3.3 recently... was working fine up until then. IT really don't know what the problem is and have been thinking about it for the last two weeks.
You are using the same Office/OS I have on one of my dev-boxes. I have no problems to report.
What does WinUpdate 3.3 do? Have you talked to the ITGang about this?

(minor long shot)
Try using th /decompile command line switch to break the DB down
Join the correct MDW
Start the DB
Repair
Compile
Compact
and then close it and open it as you normally would, the try a LinkTable op.

Jadedata,
I tried this and still have the problem. I have a number of databases and when I run them on my computer the problem is always there. When I run them on another computer they all work fine.

I'm leaning in the direction of a complete UNinstall of Office including a registry search for any remnant MSAccess keys, with a reinstall with ALL Access options.

SidFishes,
the update that IT did was related to server access so you might be onto something... however not sure how to rectify the situation... the mde files are there... my versions are actually newer versions than yours. I tried renaming the mde file.old and reinstalling but still no luck.
Jadedata,
I am going to try a complete uninstall of office... think I have tried this but will uninstall/ reinstall again. I'm not professional IT... bit of a self taught Access database buff (when a need arises and IT do not support it, one has to rapidly teach oneself!) so this may be a silly question but how do I clean the registry of remnant MSAccess keys?

First!!! If these are company machines make certain you clear your actions with the ITGang.
DON'T do ANYTHING that is going to get you in hot with the authorities.
"clean the registry":
I do a search of the registry for words like Access, MDB, MDW, MDA, ISAM, and let's not forget Office.

Jadedata,
great point about having the ITGang there... I was actually sitting in Germany with an ITGang member sitting beside me... unfortunately he doesn't speak English so I asked the questions.
SidFishes... what a guy! Finally by simply switching to the older files worked! That's well worth 500 points... if you were here I'd buy you a Guinness!
All the best guys... and thanks for the help... have a major review on Monday and have a lot to do!
