Converting Access Memo field to Sql as a RTF field.

I am looking for the best approach to converting an Access Memo field so that Sql will read the data as a RTF field.  Not sure of the actual field type?

My client wants to take an access memo field and when we incorporated into the sql tables this field needs to be converted somehow to an RTF field.  I have not heard of a RTF field in SQL.  Due to the fact that their data can contain format styles.

Please Help.

You and me both.

I'd imagine converting it up as a Text field - and using a Rich Text *control* might be the equivalent.

A memo field with formatting??
Where is the formatting coming from?
There's an idea:

Find opening and closing *stars* in the text for bold  -->  ... closing }{\b stars}{ in the...
Also, the famous _underscore_ emphasis to italics --> ... famous }{\i underscore}{ emphasis ...

Ah, and of course replace french non-breaking punctuaion spaces, identify short lines over a blank lines as titles, auto-detect bullet lists, ...
Just kidding? not entirely. I had to do something like that for memo->HTML, so I know what I'm taling about ;)
