Communication between servers

Hi,
I want to write a stored procedure that communicate with another sever. I need to insert some rows of table 'X' of Server 'S' to another table 'Y' of another server 'D'.

In which server my stored procedure must reside.

regards

The stored procedure must reside on the server from where you execute it. The rest can be solved with linked server, with give you the ability to "select" data from other server.
Cheers
