  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Steps for installing Patch on Oracle 10G

I am about to install patch 5490846 and I am unclear regarding the instructions. Should I run root.sh, catcpu.sql and then shutdown the database before I type opatch apply? Or should I Shutdown the database, and then type opatch apply, startup the database and run root.sh and catcpu.sql, shutdown, and startup the database again?
