How do I transfer my Designer diagrams and objects to school ?

I would like to take my oracle designer diagrams and their associated objects from home to school. Obviously my rights at the college network are limited, so I don't know if it will be possible. I have tried export at home but just get errors all the time. Is there a way to just save the stuff to disk, and load it up at college ? My lecturer doesn't know how to do it, and the technicians don't care. It would save me a LOT of time to be able to transport my stuff. I am using Designer 6i with Server 8i, the same as the college software.

thx

what type of export did you try? Oracle's exp command at the command prompt or did you use the export utility in RAU?

i tried exporting the application system from within the Repository Object Navigator..... Can I export just the diagram within Designer ? If so, will it export the constituent object as well ? (command line import/export I believe is completely out for us students)

thx
adam
You cannot export only the diagram.
The import and export facilities of the Repository Object Navigator enable you to transfer the contents of workareas, containers or configurations from one repository to another.
In the on-line help "About importing and exporting repository data" topic you can read more.
I've tried to export an application system and keep getting errors.
What errors are there ?
at the moment.... CDR-02000 trying to delete the mess i've made when importing/exporting. It says to check the error stack, but there is no error stack and nothing in help about it.
RME-00020 - ORA 01403 - ORA 06512 - ORA 04088 (no data found)
CDR-02000 (cannot delete business unit)
RME-00011 (delete operation failed)
RME-00222 (failed to dispatch operation to repository)

just for starters
please tell me you know what this means

sokay i just had to empty the damn wastebasket before continuing. if only oracle had the sense to tell me that instead of flashing 5 digit error messages with no meaning at me.
back to trying import/export
I recommend you to use export to the TEXT file (second option), not to the database ! I always use this method.
Ok i've been using the text method for a little bit now, and this is what I'm doing:
Exporting the "Hollywood" app system as a text file
Renaming the "Hollywood" app system to "Hollywood Orig"
Importing the Hollywood app system back onto my computer
Checking the diagrams in Hollywood to see if they work.

I have 3 process models and 2 entity relationship diagrams at the moment. The problem is that the same process model gets corrupted each time, no matter what I do. All other diagrams seem ok. Is there any chance that this is a result of having the same stuff in 2 apps sytems in my repository, or have I done something wrong ? There are no options to select in the text output......

nearly there
adam
Why do you rename your original system ? I would try to create a new app system and do import to it.
ok i'll try that... will it really make any difference ?
well it makes life easier, but doesn't solve my problem. Still stuck with corrupt process model. ARRGHHHHH!!!!!!

Ok, it was something wrong with the "Container" field in the Summary Information. I removed it, exported it, imported it, and all ok. Closing question now, but look out for another one when I try to import it at school.
:)
thx heaps
