I think so, DTS (Data Transformation Services) of SQL Server is the better way.

here's the most challenging part of all: Oracle 10g is on Solaris box, and SQL Server is on Windows 2000 Server box
by the way, I am not going to migrate from oracle to sql server, it's just a record-by-record insert job, which will run on the schedule.

dump out data from oracle to csv files then dump into sql server. You can control the format of those csv files to suit sql servre needs.

it seems mundane but maybe it is a better way to go sometimes.

marper,

will this work if oracle is on solaris box? -->  http://www.databasejournal.com/features/oracle/article.php/3442661
