Looking for an elegant solution to display database details on a web page

Dear Experts,

I am already quite adept at using Microsoft Access and SQL.  However my company has decided that they would like to try and put some of the database information into a web-based format.  They have asked me to complete this if I can so what I'm looking for is some kind of recommendation as to what is the best type of software to use and also what packages are available to purchase to make this process easier.  I've been told that PHP nuke would be a good possibility but I am not sure so I thought I would ask here.

The end result is to allow users to open up a single web page which will broadcast live results from repeated sets of queries.

I would be most grateful for any recommendations you may have.

Kind regards,
Kevin Smith.
