How to define WSS site collection available with external URL
I have WSS 3.0 set up on a web server. The default web site is http://aa.bb.ss.01 (example) I have a site collection as follows:
/sites/WSA Projects/default.aspx
I can access this internally via http://aa.bb.ss.01/sites/W
I have bought a domain name www.XXXXXXX.com. Changes have been made to resolve this through the named servers.. to the public IP for the server. What I cannot figure out is how to resolve the www url to the long url given above. From what I can see I cannot do this with alternate mappings as I don't want to resolve the www url to the website, but to the site collection mentioned above. I don't see how you can config this in IIS either?
